The 2009 Southwest Foodservice Expo, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center is regarded as the largest foodservice tradeshow in the region. Bringing together all aspects of the foodservice industry, this exposition offers insight into the Texas restaurant trade, networking among foodservice professionals, educational seminars and fun. Among the competitions are the Culinary Showcase where professional chefs and students demonstrate their culinary skills; the BEEFlexible Culinary Challenge, sponsored by the Texas Beef Council; The Best of the Southwest Pizza Competition and the Ultimate Barista Challenge Americas.
